ApprovalMax’s interface automatically adapts to your region, ensuring that dates and wording appear in the format you'd expect. There's nothing to configure; the right regional settings are applied for you.
ApprovalMax applies regional formatting at two independent levels:
Your personal settings control everything you see and receive individually, the ApprovalMax interface, your email notifications, in-app notifications, and files you download directly.
Your Organisation's settings control documents and communications sent on behalf of the company, audit report PDFs, scheduled reports, and Organisation invitation emails. These stay consistent regardless of who in the Organisation generated them.
Please note: If you belong to multiple Organisations, you may see different formatting in org-level documents per Organisation, while your own interface remains consistent throughout.
Currently, ApprovalMax supports two regional formats: UK English and US English. Other languages and regional formats are not available at this time.
There are two regional settings at each level:
Language — controls spelling (e.g. "organisation" vs "organization", "authorise" vs "authorize").
Date and time format — controls how dates and times are displayed:
Region | Date format | Time format | Example |
UK English | DD/MM/YYYY | 24-hour | 09/06/2026, 18:30 |
US English | MM/DD/YYYY | 12-hour AM/PM | 06/09/2026, 6:30 PM |
If you'd like to adjust these settings manually, you can do so at both the personal and Organisation level.
Please note: Language and date format are independent settings; you can change both or just one without affecting the other.
How to change your personal language and date format
You can configure your personal preferences in the General tab of your Profile settings.
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of ApprovalMax and select My profile.
Open the General tab.
In the Language and region section, choose your preferred:
Language (UK English or US English)
Date format
Click on Save.
Your selected preferences will apply to how dates and language are displayed in your ApprovalMax interface.
How to set Organisation-level language and date format
Organisation administrators can configure Organisation-level preferences. These settings define the default regional formatting used across the Organisation.
Open Organisation settings and Connection under Workflow and settings.
In the Language and region section, select the preferred:
Language (UK English or US English)
Date format
Click on Save changes.
Why your screen and a PDF might show dates differently
Your ApprovalMax interface and personal emails use your personal date format; PDFs and outgoing company documents use your Organisation's date format.
So, for example, a user with UK personal settings working in a US Organisation will see DD/MM/YYYY on screen but MM/DD/YYYY in audit report PDFs generated by that Organisation.
If you notice a date format that looks unexpected, it's likely because your personal region and your Organisation's region differ; your screen shows dates your way, while documents sent from the Organisation reflect its regional setting.
