How to reset 2FA if I've lost/changed my device with the Authenticator application

To reset 2FA in ApprovalMax if you've lost or changed your device with the Authenticator application, follow these steps:

Please note: This guide assumes you have access to alternative verification methods, such as backup codes or an alternative email address. If alternative methods are unavailable, you will need to contact an Organisation Administrator or Account Owner to request a reset, which must be approved by ApprovalMax Support.

1. Use the alternative 2FA option for verification: either the code sent to your alternative email address or the backup codes generated during the initial 2FA setup process. If you have a backup email set up, ensure it is accessible and use it as the quickest way to regain access.

2. Once successfully verified, you can disable 2FA for your account using the same verification method as mentioned above.

3. Next, you can enable 2FA for your account again from scratch:

  • Download an Authenticator app

  • Scan the QR code in ApprovalMax or enter it manually in your Authenticator app, following the instructions provided.

​Please note: If 2FA hard enforcement is enabled in your Organisation, you cannot perform any actions until you set up 2FA for your account again.
