How to manage mandatory and optional fields in the Requester matrix

The Requester matrix allows you to mark specific fields as optional for approval requests, while others are mandatory and cannot be altered.

In QuickBooks Online connected Purchase Order/Bill/Expense/Sales Invoice workflows, you can set certain fields as mandatory or optional for Requesters to fill in during request creation.

This is done in the Requester matrix:


Always mandatory fields

Fields that can be set as mandatory or optional

Vendor

Location

Product/Service

Category

Customer

Please note: If a field has been set as mandatory for Requesters, it will not be possible to submit requests without filling it in.

Please note: The Customer field is only available in the matrix if the tracking of Expenses and Items by customer was switched on in QuickBooks Online:
