Why does the amount of a request pulled from QuickBooks Online differ in QuickBooks Online and ApprovalMax?
When ApprovalMax pulls requests (Bills/Purchase Orders/Expenses) created in QuickBooks Online, the Line Amounts may differ in ApprovalMax and QuickBooks Online:
This happens if Amounts are Tax Inclusive and is due to a technical limitation: QuickBooks Online only passes on the Net Amount for each line.
Please note: ApprovalMax does not recalculate Amounts to Gross Amounts because we cannot guarantee its accuracy.
The Total and Subtotal Amounts displayed are correct.

Unfortunately, no. Requesters are allowed to create requests of any amount, they cannot be restricted in this regard. All requests will then be routed to the proper Approvers.
