Passkey: Frequently Asked Questions

Passkey: Frequently Asked Questions

Question Answer
Can I use a passkey instead of 2FA?
If you choose to use a passkey, you won't be prompted to set up 2FA  irrespective of whether or not it is mandatory in your Organisation. Also, if you have 2FA already enabled and then set up a passkey, you won't have to enter 2FA codes when logging in. However, 2FA is still mandatory in some cases, like for Airwallex Batch Payments.
Can I still use my password to sign-in after setting up a passkey?
Yes, you can still use your password and a second factor if you have one set up for signing in. With a passkey instead of your password and second factor, you'll be able to sign in faster. Passkeys rely on strong cryptographic methods, making them significantly more secure than traditional passwords.
Do I have to set up a passkey on all my devices individually? Will there be separate passkeys on my phone and laptop? You’ll need one passkey per device unless your device has some mechanism to “synchronise” passkeys with other devices, like via the Apple iCloud. In this case, only a single passkey is required for all devices you have connected to the iCloud.
What if I delete a passkey from my device? If you delete a passkey from your device, you will no longer be able to log in with that passkey. If you delete a passkey from ApprovalMax, the passkey might still be visible on your device but ApprovalMax will no longer recognise it. In both cases, you can use another method to log in and then reset a passkey.
