How is the approval deadline calculated? (Cin7 Core)
During the workflow setup, you can specify a point in time by which a particular approval step should be finalised.
ApprovalMax supports two types of approval deadline calculation:
- Based on the submission: With this calculation method, ApprovalMax immediately calculates the date and time by which a request should be ready for the next step at the time of document creation. This means that the deadline for all steps is set during the creation of the document, rather than when a step becomes active.
For example, you set a deadline of 2 days for the first step of a request based on the submission (BoS), and 1 day in the second step, 5 days BoS. This means: in the first approval step, the deadline will be shown as in 2 days. The deadline for the second step will be shown as in 3 days, if the approval of the first step took 2 days. - Based on the approval: With this calculation method, ApprovalMax immediately calculates the date and time by which the first approval step should be finalised. The deadlines for the subsequent steps depend on the approval time of the previous step. The calculation of the approval deadline for each step, starting from the second step, begins when the approval in the previous step has been completed.
For example, you set a deadline in the first step of a request, 2 days based on the approval (BoA), and one in the second step, 5 days BoA. This means: in the first approval step, the deadline will be shown as in 2 days. The deadline for the second step will be shown in 5 days, if the approval of the first step took 2 days.
