Budget Checking FAQ (NetSuite)

Can Budget Checking be used as a workflow or approval condition?

No. Budget Checking cannot currently be used as a condition in approval workflows or in the approval matrix.

Can I apply budgets to stand-alone workflows?

No, this isn't possible. Budget Checking is available only for Vendor Bills, Purchase Orders, and Expense Reports that follow the standard NetSuite-connected workflow.

Why don't I see Budget Checking on a request?

There are several possible reasons Budget Checking isn't showing on a request:

  1. The request doesn't match the dimensions set on the budget (for example, Class, Department, or Location).

  2. The budget check period doesn't match the request's date.

  3. The setting for handling a 0-planned amount isn't set to "Display," and the planned budget is 0.

  4. The budget is deactivated.

  5. The request isn't On Review or On Approval.

Are NetSuite documents considered in Budget Checking?

ApprovalMax tracks NetSuite Vendor Bills, Purchase Orders, and Expense Reports that were created in or pulled to ApprovalMax against the budgets synced to ApprovalMax, during the review and approval process.
