ApprovalMax utilises third-party subscription billing services under the Tiered Usage Pricing (TUP) model. All TUP subscriptions are processed through Stripe, which calculates and collects VAT at the time of purchase based on your billing details.
For all purchases made through Stripe, ApprovalMax acts as the Merchant of Record (MoR). This means Stripe issues invoices on ApprovalMax's behalf, and ApprovalMax is responsible for the related tax collection and reporting.
Stripe displays the total amount (net price plus VAT) at checkout and generates the final invoice once the purchase is completed. If no VAT is due based on your billing country, Stripe will display only the net amount.
VAT and VAT ID
If you are a VAT-registered business, you can enter your VAT ID during checkout. Stripe will validate your VAT ID automatically and remove the VAT charge if the ID is accepted.
Invoices
All invoices for TUP subscriptions are issued directly via Stripe and include:
the net subscription amount
any VAT applied
the VAT ID you provided (if applicable)
the total amount charged
Your invoice will be available immediately after you complete your subscription purchase. To download your invoice, simply click on the three-dot icon in the right-hand corner of the Invoices tab of the subscription card and select Download PDF:
Australian GST on remote services
Since July 2017, a 10% GST applies to sales made to customers based in Australia. Stripe calculates and adds this tax to the ApprovalMax net price, and the full subscription cost, including GST, is displayed in the shopping cart at checkout.
Business customers may be exempt from GST if they provide a valid ABN during checkout, in accordance with local regulations. If your ABN is accepted, the GST will be removed from your total before payment is completed.

Customers in New Zealand
Since October 2016, New Zealand–based customers have been charged an additional 15% GST when purchasing goods or services from businesses not resident in New Zealand. Stripe, as the billing service provider, is required to collect GST in addition to the ApprovalMax net price. The total subscription cost, including GST, is displayed in the shopping cart at checkout.
Business customers may be exempt from GST if they provide a valid NZBN during checkout, in line with local regulations. If your NZBN is accepted, the GST will be removed from your total before payment is completed.
