Email tags are short commands added to the email subject line that adjust how ApprovalMax Capture processes documents uploaded via email.
There are currently 2 email tags available
1. @Split
By default, a multi-page file is processed as one document. The @Split tag divides a multi-page file into separate documents. Each page is treated as its own document, and a separate request is created for each page.
This is how you use the @Split tag
Add @Split anywhere in the subject line of your email to your dedicated ApprovalMax Capture address and attach your multi-page PDF:
In ApprovalMax, go to your Captured by me inbox:
The attachment will be split page by page, each page is treated as a separate document. So with this example, as the PDF had three pages, there are three separate requests:
2. @LinesMerge
By default, ApprovalMax Capture extracts all detected Line Items separately. Adding the @LinesMerge tag skips line extraction and captures the document as one Line Item (a single consolidated line). This is useful when line-level details aren’t required, or when Supplier PDFs don’t extract cleanly.
This is how you use the @LinesMerge tag
Add @LinesMerge anywhere in the subject line of your email to your dedicated ApprovalMax Capture address and attach your file:
In ApprovalMax, go to your Captured by me inbox:
You’ll see the full invoice displayed as a single Line Item:
Please note: If you apply @LinesMerge to a multi-page attachment containing several invoices, ApprovalMax Capture will combine all pages and display the total of all invoices as one Line Item.
To extract one Line Item per invoice, use both tags — @Split and @LinesMerge — in the email subject line.
