Updated over 2 months ago

To start the Authenticate with NatWest feature, you'll need to enable third-party provider payment privileges for the team members (users in Bankline) who will be making payments via ApprovalMax Pay. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the process.

Step 1: Create a new role with third-party payment privileges

  • In the Administration menu, select "Manage roles" and click on Create role located to the right:

  • On the Create Role screen, enter a unique name and a brief description (for example, TTP Privileges Open Banking):

  • Next, scroll down to the bottom and use the drop-down menu to find privileges by category. Select "Third Party Provider consents" and click on Save & go:

  • On the following screen, activate all available boxes and click on Save & go:

  • On the next screen, also tick all boxes. Then change the privileges type in the drop-down menu to "Third Party Provider payments" and click on Save & Go:

  • Double-check and click on Continue to proceed:

  • Select the accounts you want to use for payments via ApprovalMax Pay and click on Continue.

  • Finally, on the next screen, click on Confirm new role to finish the setup:

Step 2: Assign this role to users who will be initiating payments in ApprovalMax Pay

  • Open Manage Users and select the user you want to assign this role to.

  • In the Edit User menu, scroll down to the bottom and click on Edit roles

  • On the Edit Roles screen, find the new role you created and click on Continue

  • Click on Confirm changes in the bottom-right corner of the next screen.

  • You'll then be prompted to authenticate your changes using your smart card. Click on Authenticating the action with your Smartcard to complete the Smartcard authorisation process.
