What does the ApprovalMax Public API do?

The ApprovalMax Public API lets you connect ApprovalMax to your own systems and tools, so you can automate data transfers and keep everything in sync without any manual work. By pulling the relevant request data from ApprovalMax into your reporting or analytics platform, you can build efficient workflows that match your organisation’s needs.

Your Account Owner or Administrator controls the connection and authorises which applications can access your Organisation. Once connected, your external system can securely retrieve the necessary information from ApprovalMax and use it for reporting, analytics, or further automation.


With the ApprovalMax API, you can:

  • create Stand-alone and Xero requests as drafts, update such requests, and submit them for approval

  • retrieve any Xero / QuickBooks Online / NetSuite / Stand-alone documents

  • retrieve request comments and attachments, as well as reference data (such as items, accounts, taxes)

  • power dashboards and reports in tools like Power BI or Tableau

  • integrate ApprovalMax with third-party systems that rely on up-to-date accounting and approval data
